Back hurts. Kidney pain. Relief?

Question by ╔══↓══╗ → єℓℓє ← ╚══↑══╝: Back hurts. Kidney pain. Relief?
Went to the doc and they prescribed an antibiotic (Ciprofloxacin). I’ve had a UTI for almost 3 weeks. A few days ago (the 9th I think) I woke up with kidney pain (right side). Went to the doctor on the 11th. My back hurts so bad, it’s almost intolerable. Also, feels like my lower right side of the front of my abdomen hurts too. Like a gassy feeling, but nothing passes. I’m a hypochondriac, with low pain tolerance. I feel like it’s going to rupture. Felt like that last night too, but woke up this morning and it was gone. Now it’s back. I know I can’t have Ibuprofen, but can I still have Tylenol? Would IcyHot work? Hot baths and heating pads don’t seem to work… I’m in so much pain, please help me? :’(

Answer by Micki 48
You can take Tylenol. I don’t think it would hurt you, as long as you don’t take more than is recommended. Your doctor should probably order a CT scan to check out your kidneys. If the pain is really bad, I’d go to the ER. They’ll most likely do a CT scan then to see if you have kidney stones. I’d at least call the doctor again and tell him what’s going on. He needs to investigate a little further to find the source of the pain.

Q&A: RSD Pain relief pain options?

Question by kinde: RSD Pain relief pain options?
i was diagnosed with rsd from an iv infiltration in the hand. I have tried meditation, hydracodone, motrin soaking the arm, heating pads, and tonight was my first night taking opana ( a morphine product). It is helping a little, not like i thought it would.

I am having a block on the 19th and praying it will help. Has anyone had any luck with other meds? I am in so much pain that i feel like i could go crazy…this is the worst pain i have ever experienced. I have done some research, but i cannot really find anything on meds.

My doc is good and he said we will try different things until we find the right combonation, but i am hoping someone else has had some knowledge they can lend. Thanks

RSD, is now known as “complex regional pain disorder” and is very hard to overcome.
I would try to focus on meditation and your perception of pain- the psychiatric component of the illness.

Q&A: I have arthritis pain. Can’t take NSAIDS. Any ideas for pain relief?

Question by swiftstriker77: I have arthritis pain. Can’t take NSAIDS. Any ideas for pain relief?
History of ulcers, do not have addictive personality. Doc’s won’t give me narcotics. Plain Tylenol doesn’t work, hot pads don’t work.

There are amazing new pharmaceutical therapies to address arthritis that are in clinical trials. Some of these new medications will actually reverse arthritis damage. My advice to you is to visit this government site occasionally and keep your eye out for arthritis pharmaceutical clinical trials. Subjects for clinical trials are in GREAT demand right now. Treatment and your health care expenses would be covered:

Do any of you use Vicodin for extreme pain relief?

Question by Mommy of Andrew: Do any of you use Vicodin for extreme pain relief?
Hi there, I’m having awful awful awful TMJ pain. Didn’t get any sleep last night what so ever. Just moaned and groaned and cried tring to relief the pain. Tyenol does NOTHING for me. I did heating pad, cold packs, massaging. Nothing helped. I remember my doctor proscribed me hydrocodone (generic of vicodin) 500mg take 1 to 2 pills every 6 to 8 hours after my son was born for bad headaches. I’ve done some research on it and most pregnant women who are in severe pain that is the 1st thing OB’s suggest to use, but not to use it after 32 weeks because there is a ‘possibility’ of the baby getting addicted. I have a Ob appointment on Thursday morning so i’ll let her know i’ll be taking them for the pain that i’m having. The hospital is a hour away and i’m not about to drive that in the nasty winter weather we are having in extreme pain. I need some relief, and having panic attacks and my anxiety go full blown because of the pain isn’t good for the baby either. I’m just wondering if you used vicodin and how much and did it work?
trust me i’ve tried everything and anything. no one knows how bad TMJ pain really is. It’s awful! I can’t imagine viocodine being different for me then what it was when I wasn’t pregnant. And most pregnant women who have bad TMJ flareups their Ob’s prescribe them vicodine. Like I said I’ll wait to tell my Ob on thursday morning to let her know that i’m going to take some as needed to releive some pain. I cannot take it anymore.

I would never take anything that is an opiate derivative while I was pregnant without the doctor’s okay, even if it says it’s okay online. What my be okay for those women may not be okay for you. Sure he prescribed it to you after your last pregnancy, but he did not prescribe it for this pregnancy. That is just something that you shouldn’t be messing around with right now. I understand that your anxiety may be bad and your stress levels are high and your in pain, but you need to go to the doctor before you take anything that potent. For now you should probably fins another solution to your pain and anxiety. I know that is easier said than done. I have an anxiety disorder so I know how hard it can be, but think about the affect it could have on the baby.

where can I find a doctor in Miami, Fl. who will inject my foot with botox for pain relief?

Question by vanbeeps: where can I find a doctor in Miami, Fl. who will inject my foot with botox for pain relief?
Im getting ready for my wedding in february, but I alwasy have foot pain when i wear heels. (i love them) I read online that alot of women are injection the balls of their feet with botox to add more “padding”. Does anyone know of an office or doctor in miami that will do this procedure????
please help!!!!

Best answer:

Answer by disen87
Maybe you need to see a podiatrist about this as they may be able to help…or find heels that fit you better. Botox is not going to help with your pain. In fact, making your foot bigger with more “padding” may increase the pressure, rubbing, etc.

I put one long strip on back with the converter pins that go from snap to prong so I can do it myself without help. This machine is totally awesome I asked my dr what he thought of this machine before purchase, he said he had no opinion. Q&A: I believe I may have pulled chest muscles…need pain relief?

Question by presteen619: I believe I may have pulled chest muscles…need pain relief?
I was raking and doing odd things in yard preparing for spring and then boom…my left shoulder and left front part of chest is swollen and the muscles are very tight on shoulder and near neck. I want to know if I can or should take Soma(muscle relaxer) and Lortab(pain med) together? It is the 2nd day and the pain is incredible! Icy hot helps very little. Heating pad made it feel kinda worse. Most relief is when I raise my arm above my head…having no weight pulling down on shoulder. Shoulder feels as tho someone is pulling on my arm….Please help it really hurts. I know its not heart related or when I raise my arm it wouldn’t go away. Heart pain increases from what I am told.
Thank You
