Question by ╔══↓══╗ → єℓℓє ← ╚══↑══╝: Back hurts. Kidney pain. Relief?
Went to the doc and they prescribed an antibiotic (Ciprofloxacin). I’ve had a UTI for almost 3 weeks. A few days ago (the 9th I think) I woke up with kidney pain (right side). Went to the doctor on the 11th. My back hurts so bad, it’s almost intolerable. Also, feels like my lower right side of the front of my abdomen hurts too. Like a gassy feeling, but nothing passes. I’m a hypochondriac, with low pain tolerance. I feel like it’s going to rupture. Felt like that last night too, but woke up this morning and it was gone. Now it’s back. I know I can’t have Ibuprofen, but can I still have Tylenol? Would IcyHot work? Hot baths and heating pads don’t seem to work… I’m in so much pain, please help me? :’(

You can take Tylenol. I don’t think it would hurt you, as long as you don’t take more than is recommended. Your doctor should probably order a CT scan to check out your kidneys. If the pain is really bad, I’d go to the ER. They’ll most likely do a CT scan then to see if you have kidney stones. I’d at least call the doctor again and tell him what’s going on. He needs to investigate a little further to find the source of the pain.
